The Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials from one location to another using commercial motor vehicles. This role requires adherence to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while maintaining the integrity of the cargo and ensuring on-time deliveries. Β 

Essential FunctionsΒ 

  • Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • May be required to spend nights in the truck, this may include multiple nights per week depending on business demands.
  • Secure cargo based upon company policies and in the absence of company policy in a manner compliant with FMCSA regulations.
  • Navigate the routes to reach destinations on time, considering factors like road conditions, traffic, and weather.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire pressure, and any potential safety concerns. Report any issues promptly, and refrain from proceeding until after issues are corrected.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records, including use of e-logs and logbooks when needed, bills of lading, and other required documentation in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and fellow drivers to provide updates on delivery progress, potential delays, and any incidents on the road.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hours-of-service limits, weight restrictions, and other industry-specific requirements.
  • Interact professionally with shippers, consignees and other customers during pick-up and delivery, ensuring a positive representation of the company.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents, breakdowns, or adverse weather conditions, by following established procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as removing debris from trailers, checking fluid levels and performing minor repairs, and promptly report any mechanical issues for proper repairs.
  • Adjust to changes in schedules, routes, and delivery requirements, while maintaining a flexible and adaptable approach to the job.
  • Handle the physical demands of the job, including loading and unloading heavy items and spending extended periods sitting and driving.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.Β

Education RequirementsΒ 

: High School Diploma or the equivalent.Β 

Certification/Licensure Requirements Β 

Required: Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Β
