Local CDL Driver – Performance Transportation

Location: Carney, MI and/or Seymour, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Local Routes
Employment Type: Full-Time

Rate of Pay: Based on experience, $28.00/hr.

We are looking for a dependable Local CDL Driver to join our pallet manufacturing and recycling operation. This position involves daily local deliveries and pickups of pallets, lumber, and pallet components. Drivers return home every night — no overnight travel required.

Performance Transportation drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized
• Properly document all freight control processes
• Read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
• Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers
• Interact and converse with external/internal customers
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Performance Pallet Driver Handbook

Qualifications:

• At least 23 years of age
• At least 18 months of commercial driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
• No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operations in the past 3 years
• Must be able to operate dry vans, walking floor trailers, flatbeds and crib trailers
• Capability of operating both manual and automatic transmissions
• Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Basic math skills
• Fluent in English
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Able to pass a drug screen
