Position Purpose

We are looking for a dependable and organized Class A Flatbed Truck Driver to join Parks Building Solutions! To be successful as a local truck driver, you should demonstrate punctuality and ensure that all local deliveries are completed in a timely manner. Ultimately, an outstanding local truck driver should be able to effectively communicate with customers, dispatch, and warehouse staff as well as always adhere to road safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle.            

·         Drive Class B & C trucks, as necessary.

·         Complete Pre-Trip Inspections.

·         Secure loads, load and unload trucks with Moffett forklift (Teledyne, Piggyback).

·         Help pull loads on the lumber yard.

·         Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.

·         Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)

·         Read and understand delivery orders.

·         Check loads before and during delivery.

·         Pick up items and organize them from jobsites.

·         Complete driver logs if needed.

·         Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.

·         Always make safety a priority.


Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.

Clean driving record with no moving violations.

Meet 2 yr. DOT physical requirements to maintain DOT medical card.

Understand and follow DOT regulations.

Ability to utilize GPS and local road maps.

Able to operate an iPad/tablet.

Ability to operate hand trucks and electric lifts.

Alert, focused, and detail oriented.

Effective communication skills.

Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

High level of composure and good stress management.

Must pass pre-employment drug test and random drug tests after hiring.

 

Education, Experience, Licensing Requirements

Class A CDL license with valid DOT medical card.

2 years CDL experience.

Forklift Certification or experience required, but Moffett (Teledyne, Piggyback) experience preferred.

Minimum of 21 years of age.


Management Preference

High school diploma. GED, or equivalent

Lumber or building supply experience.

 

Working Conditions
Outdoor environment includes conditions of dust, noise, temperature variations and rain/snow.


Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat kneel, climb, and reach overhead. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
