This person is part of our Industrial Communications West warehouse team, located in Grand Island, Nebraska. It's a combination of equipment delivery work, warehouse work, and site clean-up, as needed. A Class A CDL is required, and travel is regional within portions of Nebraska, Kansas, eastern Wyoming, southeast/southwest South Dakota, and northeastern Colorado. Overnight travel averages 1 to 2 nights per week, but can require up to 4 nights in a row on occasion. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Loading inventory from warehouse and deliver to tower sites via box truck or pickup.
  • Loading and unloading materials.
  • Operating equipment which can include box truck with donkey, dually pickup and gooseneck, semi and drop deck flat bed, excavator, skid steer, 12k telehandler, Forklift, articulating boom truck- Model A77T.
  • Assisting in clean-up of sites, including transporting various parts and materials back to the warehouse
  • Assisting Warehouse crew when needed by pulling material, putting away returns, and cycle counts. 
  • Willingness to be a team player with a can-do attitude that promotes a safe working environment.
  • Keeping all delivery vehicles clean and up to date on maintenance. Mechanical experience is a plus to assist fleet with oil changes when no deliveries are needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or other members of management. 

Qualifications include:

  • Class A CDL is required or obtained within 6 weeks after employment begins.
  • Must do a pre-trip and post-trip of all equipment used during the shift. 
  • Must pass a DOT Physical.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have a clean driving record (MVR) and must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, which include a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and substance screening, following federal law. 
  • Must be able to run and operate Telehandlers, Donkeys, and Forklifts. 
  • Must be comfortable hauling loads that are just over regular DOT limits and require an oversized load permit.
  • Must be able to use GPS for efficiently locating sites.
  • Basic knowledge of iPad, laptops, and cameras.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside in all elements; including but not limited to snow, rain, mud, wind and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks.
  • Knowledge of truck loading techniques and arrangement of load distribution within a truck or trailer per DOT regulation.
  • Ability to evaluate if a site is safe to go in to with a large/heavy vehicle.

Typical schedule:

  • Ability to stay overnight at hotels if needed. (1-4 nights a week). Currently this is 1-2 nights per week. 
  • Monday through Friday, but a rare weekend delivery may occur. 
  • Ability to start early or work late as needed to meet delivery or pick up timelines, for example, starting as early as 5 am and working as late and 7 pm.  Start time is 7 am when working locally or no timeline is present that would require an earlier start or late finish.
