Warehouse Associate/CDL A Relief Driver

Are you ready to take on a dynamic role that blends warehouse operations with driving duties? As a Warehouse Associate/CDL A Relief Driver, you’ll spend 80% of your time in the warehouse, where you’ll be handling, moving, and organizing products with the help of powered industrial trucks and manual tools. You’ll be working across multiple functional areas like receiving, shipping, and inventory management. The other 20% of your time, you'll step into the role of a CDL A Driver, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our customers, all while maintaining top-notch service. Driving will primarily be needed when we have an influx of orders or covering for vacations, giving you variety and flexibility.

What You’ll Do:

• Work Safely: Use safe work practices and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain a secure work environment
• Conduct Safety Audits: Perform daily equipment safety checks to ensure everything is in working order and meets safety standards
• Master Warehouse Operations: Become an expert in warehouse profile procedures and leverage technology like barcode scanning and RF systems to track inventory movement
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT): Drive motorized pallet jacks, sit-down and stand-up fork trucks, reach trucks, and order pickers to handle, load, and count inventory
• Coordinate with Team Members: Communicate effectively with leads and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations
• Achieve Goals: Meet and exceed safety, accuracy, and productivity standards
• Drive and Deliver: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and use a cube truck (up to 20' box) or straight truck (up to 28' box) to make customer deliveries with precision and care

What We Need From You:

• Customer Service: A passion for providing excellent service to both internal and external customers
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• CDL A License: A valid Class A CDL and an excellent driving record
• Medical Certification: Must have and maintain a valid Fed Med card
• Language Skills: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Math Skills: Basic proficiency in math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Physical Capability: The ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Extra Certifications: HazMat certification is a plus, but not required
• Drug Screening: Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CDL A
• Haz Mat Certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• A valid state issued driver license and a solid, with an acceptable driving record is required
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English
• Perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Desire to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
• Must meet physical capability to perform the work required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds either by hand or using a dolly. Must also regularly climb to enter and exit the delivery truck or to climb stairs at customer locations. Will regularly be required to crouch, bend, or twist and use hands and fingers to operate truck controls and to record orders using a mobile application. Requires close and distance vision for safe operation of the delivery vehicle and for operating the mobile application.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment may vary widely due to changes in outside temperature and weather. May be exposed to rain, snow, sleet and/or wind and slippery surfaces. When indoors at our facility or customer facilities, may be exposed to various odors related to business operations. May be regularly exposed to fragrances and odors that come from cleaning chemicals, air fresheners, equipment and other products that are part of the delivery or present at delivery locations. Noise level is moderate.
