Roll-Off Truck Driver

Under general supervision, performs the daily driving to and from assigned county convenience sites transporting MSW, recyclables, yard wastes, scrap metals, etc, within Pasquotank County.   Other work assignments may involve performing duties in one or more of the following areas: operating heavy motorized vehicles if necessary, hauling and dumping municipal waste materials.  Specific duties and responsibilities may vary according to areas of assignment. Employee is sub­ject to the usual hazards of landfill work.  Reports to the Recycling Coordinator, Solid Waste Director and/or lead transfer truck driver.

Hook to loaded roll-off dumpsters of waste and haul to proper destinations.

Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on motor vehicles and equipment used in performance of job.

Inspects trucks and roll-off containers before hauling.

Checks containers to ensure they are properly strapped.

Performs duties that are assigned by the recycling coordinator, director or county manager.

High school graduate or equivalent with 2-5 years driving experience of class “B” trucks or roll off trucks.  Be able to perform minimum maintenance on trucks.
