General Summary
The Pilot Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating the pilot truck vehicle while navigating traffic through active construction work zones. This position may perform, flagging operations, laborer responsibilities, other duties on the paving crew as directed and necessary.This position receives close supervision related to specific work activities, assignments, methods, etc.Typically, this position receives frequent observation/inspection over job activities; instructions are detailed and assignments are typically short-term. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks assigned. Normal work hours are day or night shift eight (8) to fourteen (14) hours Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be required depending on the contract. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and task to be performed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required. Prior Asphalt paving/grading experience preferred, but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current North Carolina Driver’s License required along with acceptable driving record.
