Heavy Equipment Operator - CDL - Class A, must drive Manual

Must have CDL - Class A and be able to drive manual. In this position - one will operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to, back hoes, skid steers, front-end loaders with forks, and excavators. Additional operation of railroad equipment (tie inserter, regulator, etc.) will be required; on-the-job training for railroad equipment will be provided. When not operating; this person will be expected to assist as a Railroad Track Laborer; which is a pysically demanding job. 

Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience and licensure; Competitive pay

Hours:  Full-time; eligible for overtime

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to, back hoes, skid steers, front-end loaders with forks, and excavators, and railroad equipment (tie inserter, regulator, etc.); on-the-job training will be provided.
• Work around all types of moving equipment.
• Perform manual labor as required.
• Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, NORAC, Employee Handbook, procedures, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with the troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with the development of improved and new field methods and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
