Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Class A Driver to join our team! This role requires a skilled driver who can safely and efficiently transport heavy construction equipment, including tractors, dozers, and off-road trucks, on and off a low-boy trailer. The ideal candidate must be comfortable driving off-road onto construction job sites and have a strong understanding of equipment loading, unloading, and securement procedures. Candidate will need a general knowledge of heavy equipment, including but not limited to, tractors, dozers, track hoes, etc., and how to operate and load the machines, themselves, on most occasions onto the trailer. The candidate must know how to operate a manual transmission.

Responsibilities:

Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites

Load and unload equipment safely, ensuring proper securement on the trailer

Drive off-road onto construction sites, navigating uneven terrain when required

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure safe operation

Properly document trips, loads, and deliveries in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

Adhere to all safety standards and company policies

Requirements:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record

Experience with low-boy trailers and off-road driving

Experience hauling heavy construction equipment and operating machinery such as dozers, tractors, track hoes, and off-road trucks

Load and unload equipment safely, ensuring proper securement on the trailer

Knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to maintain accurate trip records

Ability to properly strap and secure loads

Strong attention to safety and detail

Comfortable working in outdoor and construction environments

Experience with low-boy trailers and off-road driving

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work in construction or heavy equipment transport

Ability to perform minor truck and trailer maintenance
