The City of London is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Public Works Department as a full-time Sanitation Driver. This vital role is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to collect and transport waste, playing a key part in maintaining the health and cleanliness of our community. General Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle along designated routes in accordance with all local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is operating properly.
- Work effectively with crew members to ensure efficient and timely collection.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and city policies.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors and team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
