About the Role:

Ingersoll Auto of Danbury is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver to work as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This position requires the ability to safely operate a CDL-class vehicle and tow a trailer for transporting vehicles and equipment. The driver will support dealership operations by ensuring the timely and secure delivery of vehicles across multiple locations and partner sites.Β 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a CDL vehicle with towing capabilities, including trailers up to applicable weight limits
  • Transport vehicles, trailers, and equipment between dealership locations and external partners
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and mileageΒ 
  • Ensure vehicles are secured properly during transport
  • Communicate effectively with dealership management regarding schedules, routes, and delivery updates
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while representing the dealership

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL license with clean driving record
  • Proven experience towing trailers and transporting vehicles
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible schedule based on dealership transport needs
  • May include evenings and weekends

Compensation:

  • Paid on a 1099 independent contractor basis
  • Competitive per-trip or per-mile rate, to be determined at the time of engagement
  • Contractor is responsible for taxes and insurance coverage as required by law
