Description

JOB SUMMARY

As a CDL Hazmat Driver/Plant Technician, you will be responsible for transporting hazardous materials safely and efficiently to various destinations. You will also be responsible for Installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, structures, and pipe in and around company plant. Your duties will be to ensure that the hazardous materials are transported in compliance with all state and federal regulations and Plant Technician duties.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transport hazardous materials safely and efficiently to various destinations
  • Ensure the proper loading and unloading of hazardous materials.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times and any issues that may arise during transport.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment in and around plant area.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery used in and around plant.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Sets up and operates machinery and other tools as needed for day-to-day operations in and around plant.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • 3 plus years' experience as a CDL/Hazmat driver
  • 3 years' experience in plant maintenance or laborer
  • Valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check, physical and DOT drug screening.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Safety-conscious individual with a passion for driving and a commitment to excellence.


Physical Requirements:

Job duties performed primarily out in the field and must be able to work in an outdoor environment with changing temperature. Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time, lift or transport items up to 50lbs, walk short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder.
