Collaborates With: Yard Dispatcher, Load Pullers, Warehouse Pullers, Load Checkers

Job Summary:
As a Truck Driver at Koopman Lumber, you will play a critical role in delivering materials to designated job sites while representing our company with professionalism and courtesy. You will work closely with our distribution team to ensure the right materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This role requires physical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport materials to specified destinations using stake body, flatbed dump, box trucks, or semi-trailers, depending on license class (Class B or Class A).

Maintain constant communication with the Yard Dispatcher via radio or telephone to receive instructions, resolve issues, or update delivery status.

Complete and submit daily forklift checklists, fuel logs, and pre/post-trip inspection reports.

Secure cargo using cleats and load straps to ensure safe transport.

Operate vehicle equipment to load, unload, or distribute materials, and assist with manual loading/unloading as needed.

Maintain accurate truck logs and delivery paperwork in compliance with company, customer, and state/federal regulations.

Obtain customer signatures or collect payments for delivered goods and charges.

Log and manage goods picked up from job sites for return.

Clean, inspect, and service vehicles to ensure safe operation.

Represent Koopman Lumber professionally at job sites and on the road, fostering positive customer relationships.

Qualifications:

Valid Massachusetts CDL (Class B or Class A) with endorsements applicable to assigned fleet vehicles.

Ability to obtain or possess a DOT medical card and forklift operator certification.

Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing all job duties.

Must pass a pre-employment fit-for-duty examination and maintain optimal health and physical fitness throughout employment.

Strong team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, compliance, and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
