CDL Class A Driver

Summary/Objective:

The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for the timely and accurate loading, travel, and delivery of vehicles for customer accounts as determined by the team. This position involves traveling long distances, performing vehicle inspections, and ensuring the safe and secure transport of vehicles to designated locations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate various classes of vehicles from non-CDL up to and including Class A CDL vehicles.
• Ensure all vehicles are loaded and unloaded properly and securely.
• Drive vehicles to different locations, ensuring timely delivery based on customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard environment.
• Perform light detailing and cleaning of vehicles as necessary.
• Inspect all vehicles delivered to the dealership by transporters for any damages or issues.
• Perform light mechanical work as trained and when necessary.
• Maintain and ensure proper fuel levels in vehicles.
• Complete jobs in a timely manner while adhering to safety standards.
• Support the sales team with inventory control and display lot organization.
• Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL without restrictions. Applicant must have air brakes, full A and manual transmission.
• Must be able to operate all types of manual transmissions and back trailers into tight spaces.
• Some computer skills are necessary with Microsoft 365, Excel, and other internal software as needed.
• Previous CDL driving experience
• Clean driving record - No moving violations in the past
• Must be able to travel long distance
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service, and safety standards.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
