About the Role:

As a CDL A Driver in the Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of waste materials and related equipment. Your primary objective will be to operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. You will be responsible for managing routes efficiently, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring that all cargo is secured properly. This role requires a strong commitment to environmental safety and customer service, as you will often be the face of the company during deliveries and pickups. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the effective management and remediation of waste, supporting community health and environmental sustainability in the Bakersfield area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A commercial vehicles, preferably in waste management or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial vehicle operation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background checks.
  • Physical ability to perform loading/unloading tasks and operate vehicle controls safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with waste management or environmental remediation transportation.
  • Familiarity with GPS and route planning software.
  • Additional endorsements such as HazMat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with clients in a professional manner.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport waste materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Plan and follow assigned routes, adjusting as necessary to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and securement to prevent damage or spillage.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies regarding safety and environmental compliance.
