Spot and reposition trailers or containers within the yard, dock doors, or staging areas as needed
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles and report maintenance needs
Communicate closely with warehouse staff, dispatch, and yard management to prioritize movements
Maintain accurate logs of trailer locations and movements
Ensure all movements comply with safety protocols and company standards
Operate spotting tractors, yard jockeys, or hostlers efficiently and safely
May assist with short-haul runs if required
Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and yard safety protocols
Valid CDL Class A or B license (with current medical card)
Proven experience in a spotter/yardsman or truck driving role
Strong understanding of backing, docking, and maneuvering trailers in tight spaces
Clean driving record and knowledge of DOT safety regulations
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
Strong attention to detail and safety
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Experience with different types of trailers (reefers, dry vans, containers)
Familiarity with yard management systems (YMS)
Forklift certification (a plus, but not required)
