JOB SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for the safe transportation of raw material and finished goods between the production facility and distribution warehouse.

EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or GED; CDL driving license 

EXPERIENCE:

Required:  3+ years’ experience in over the road driving

Preferred:  3+ years’ experience in hauling hazmat material

POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification

Required: 

• Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the US
• Be at least 21 years of age
• CDL driving license with hazardous material and tanker endorsements
• Pass DOT physical
• Project a professional appearance with the ability to represent our company in a positive manner to our customers and associates
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations

CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)

Wear mandatory PPE at all times. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Document hours of service in compliance with DOT regulations. Ensure that the transfer tractor and trailer meet company and DOT requirements as they relate to safe operation and cleanliness. Use forklift or pallet jack to load and unload hazardous chemicals onto trailer in compliance with all DOT and company regulations. Review stickers, labels and placards on all material prior to loading on truck to ensure DOT compliance. Complete required transportation and production paperwork for each shipment. Use bar code scanner in compliance with company requirements. Correctly pull and label packaging items with appropriate DOT stickers and placards as necessary. Complete other duties and special projects upon request.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

The overall benefits package includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, as well as 401k with company contributions. Associates will also be eligible for paid holidays, paid vacation time, and paid sick time.
