Flatbed Utility Truck Driver

Helix Electric has a need for a dynamic Flatbed Utility Truck Driver. The successful candidate will be supporting a production driven team.       

Role Details:

• Position Title: Tool Dept. Driver
• Direct Report of: Tool Manager
• Department: Tools
• Function: Tool pickup and delivery

Job Tasks/Key Accountabilities:

• Following all safety policies, processes, and instructions
• Perform pre-trip inspections on each vehicle used each day
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
• Maintaining tools and equipment
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles

Warehouse coordination and communication

• Preparing documents relating to deliveries
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Refuel and clean vehicles
• Perform any reasonable request or work task as allocated by Warehouse Manager or other Senior Management

Delivery Driver Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license issued by the state where you intend to work
• Clean driving record
• Special licenses may be required to operate certain vehicles
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in delivery driving
• Be able to communicate effectively through both written and verbal communication
• Ability to lift 50lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time
• Prior Tool/Electrical/ Construction knowledge

Preferred Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish will improve placement consideration for the position
• Good planning, organization, and integration skills
• Works well with others
• Knowledge and experience in a warehouse/electrical/tool setting

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Job requires wo Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
• Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
