Agri Beef’s feed yards employ some of the most dedicated people in the business. Bunk readers, truck drivers, pen riders, yard crew, cattle doctors and on-site administrative support staff are just a few of the helping hands making sure our cattle are fed properly and living in a healthy, comfortable environment. Our El Oro Feed yard is located in Moses Lake, Washington and the primary goal of our feed yard is to maintain optimal health and well-being of our animals.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Feed Truck Driver is responsible for delivering feed from the mill to cattle bunks in the yard. Utilizing feeding software, they ensure that proper rations are delivered to our cattle. This position reports to the Feed Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load feed onto trucks
  • Drive feed truck to appropriate bunks
  • Dispense correct feed into bunks in an evenly distributed manner
  • Work with the applicable feeding software system to ensure that proper rations are delivered
  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding cattle issues and repairs/maintenance needed
  • Inspects truck equipment, performing minor repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have the skills to operate and do daily maintenance of feed truck and other feeding equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelinesΒ 
  • Knowledge of cattle, commodities, and computers is preferred

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • OR one to three months related experience and/or training preferred

WAGE RANGE: $18-20 per hour

BENEFITS: Competitive benefit package offered for regular (non-temporary/seasonal) employees (and qualified dependents) working 30+ hours per week includes medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, 401k, PTO accrual up to 15 days per year, six (6) paid holidays annually, and three (3) floating holidays.
