As a Driver at Blower-Dempsay Corporation, a leading Southern California packaging innovator since 1973, you'll fuel our mission by safely transporting packaging materials and finished goods in our fleet of non-sleeper trucks. You’ll ensure efficient pickups, punctual deliveries, regulatory compliance, and top-tier customer service. 

SUMMARY

A driver at our Pak West division is responsible for transporting customer orders from our distribution center to the customers’ facilities, achieving a result of complete customer satisfaction. This is accomplished by applying skills/abilities to perform duties/responsibilities as outlined below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate company vehicles to make pickups and deliveries.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections of assigned equipment and notify supervision immediately of issues that require attention/service.
• Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
• Accurately follow routes.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during all interaction with customers as well as with the general public.
• Keep tractors clean and organized inside and out.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, which may in some cases cross over from driver to warehouse tasks.
• Communicate with supervision regarding load issues such as load errors, damaged product, non-optimal route sequencing, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Possess a valid Class A Driver’s License.
• Maintain a clean driving record - no DUIs in the past 10 years/ no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Ability to safely operate in this capacity for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Ability to use navigational technology and follow optimal routes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience driving in a professional capacity is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Regularly required to sit while driving, using hands and feet to operate vehicle.

· Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Able to utilize a manual pallet jack or hand truck to move items in trailer.
