Truck Driver

The County is accepting applications for the full-time position of Truck Driver.  Job responsibilities include loading and unloading roll-off containers; operating container truck; performing minor preventive maintenance to equipment.  General knowledge of the operation and servicing of automotive equipment; knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation; safe driving practices and occupational hazards of the work are required.  Applicant must be dependable and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and must have a valid drivers' license.  Possession of an appropriate commercial driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsements for hazardous materials and tankers endorsement is desirable.  The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with associates and the general public is required.  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience in the operation of heavy equipment is preferred.  Starting salary range is between $40,343 - $44,000, depending on qualifications and experience.  Position includes the following benefits: paid vacation, sick leave, health, vision and dental insurance, and retirement through the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).
