Job Summary:

The Dump Truck Driver Class B is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks for transporting materials to and from project sites.



Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maneuvers Class B dump trucks to transport construction materials between sites.
  • Loads and unloads materials efficiently, ensuring proper distribution and securing of the load.
  • Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the dump truck.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly.
  • Maintains effective communication with construction site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material deliveries and pickups.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the dump truck, such as checking fluid levels, and tire pressure, and ensuring overall vehicle functionality.
  • Keeps accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents that may occur during transportation.
  • Addresses and resolves any issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic delays or mechanical problems, while keeping supervisors informed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
  • Available to work various hours and shifts as needed

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience as a Class B dump truck driver in a construction or related industry is required.
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs and inspect and maintain machinery.
  • Active, physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50+ lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching.
  • Frequently walking, standing, driving, and operating equipment for extended periods.
  • Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, and clear close & distant vision.
  • Requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires regular use of eyes, shoulders & neck to monitor vehicle mirrors & backup camera.
  • Must be able to work in all weather types, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
